DISSH Lab Spaces

DISSH LAB SPACES is a part of the Digital Innovation and Scholarship in the Social Sciences and Humanities initiative at East Carolina University. The first Lab space located in Brewster D-212 is open to faculty and students working on digital projects. It is a sub-space of the GIS Center with computers and GIS software available for students and faculty.

The lab also offers headset/microphones, iPads, external microphones to check out to use in the lab space. The lab space in Brewster D-212 is unique in offering a MakerBot 3D Scanner and a MakerBot Z18 3D Printer for creative and collaborative digital research and teaching projects.

The second Lab space is located in Bate 2009 and offers a variety of equipment and software available for students and faculty to work on their projects.

• 24 iMac computers with Retina 4K display
• Interactive White Board (upon request)
• A black/white printing station
• Headphones Logitech with built-in microphones (upon request)
• Studio quality USB Microphones (Blue Nessie, Snowball, Spark: upon request)

There is a check-out system for equipment: all hardware taken out of the lab space must be signed off by Ms. Lily Johnson, Educational Technology Consultant. Please contact Lily Johnson 328-2103, Lab coordinator, for any questions/requests.
